SNGP Action Committees

Election Preparedness Committee

The Simcoe North Greens are an ABC riding– Always. Be. Campaigning.

In between elections, this is the committee that seeks and prepares new candidates. In the lead to an election, this committee is also the Nomination Committee until identifying and recruiting the candidate for the next election. During an election period this committee becomes the Campaign Committee, the nerve centre of the election plan coordinating activities and events. Join this committee if you have an interest in fostering directly the Green leaders of tomorrow.

Social Media Committee

Current COVID-19 realities mean running a completely different campaign where social media presence must largely replace door-to-door canvassing as well as community engagement at local events, parades, festivals– all of which have moved online. These new realities mean that we are wandering into largely uncharted territory that demand we learn as we go, trial and error across multiple platforms and catering messages appropriate to users of the platform. It is the job of the social media committee to improve our digital game, to find our audience and engage them where they are at, delivering the Green message

If you would like to know more about the Social Media Committee, please contact the committee chair:

Outreach Committee

Being relevant to the community at large, responding to the needs of the ecologically minded, and letting our constituency know what is happening in and around the riding of Simcoe North is a critical role of the party associations. If you have talents that involve writing articles, public speaking, event organising, this is the committee for you.

Policy Committee

From marriage equality, to legalised marijuana; from declaring a climate emergency to the current pharmacare plan, all the most progressive policies in Canadian politics were originally put forward by the Green Party. You will note that other parties then echo our ideas, proving that Green values are sensible and worthy of implementation, no matter which party is in a position of leadership. Good ideas are good ideas and what’s important is that they see the light of day.

This committee is for the policy wonks where we discuss and design policy and resolutions to be submitted to the respective party to become policy through our grassroots processes at general meetings.
