Sustainability
The Simcoe North Greens understand that the Earth has limited resources and that we need to protect our planet's plants and animals. To create a sustainable future for ourselves and generations to come, we must stop the increase in how much we consume, the growth of the population, and the gaps in wealth between people.
We believe that young people play a key role in this effort. We encourage youth engagement to develop a sense of responsibility towards the environment, helping to create a balance between humans and nature.

Sustainability in Simcoe North
Simcoe North has the purest water known to sicence, discovered over ten years ago below what is currently a gravel mine. This mine is allowed to take out millions of litres of water to wash gravel. Interestingly, this gravel might be part of the natural process that makes the water so pure. The Green Party supports the Elmvale Groundwater Study because it’s important to understand how this process works.
Protecting our pure water is crucial, but learning how it gets purified is even more important. If we can figure out how to copy this natural filtration system, it could help places in the world where clean water is scarce, like some of Canada's northern communities, parts of Africa and Asia, and even be useful for exploring other planets. By studying and protecting our groundwater, Simcoe North can help find solutions to some of the world’s biggest water problems.
